Wow what a gorgeous Morning!!!!!!

Oh I am so hoping Spring is coming faster than the 3 weeks.. the sun is teasing again. The birds are being very cheerful and active, squirells racing around.. The deer have been hiding.. Guess they are finding budding leaves up on the hill above our house. Today I just want to take in the day. Think about my future crafting that I will need to get done next week. So I leave you with some Native American clipart that was offered free... Hugs, Debbie

The Sun is teasing us!!

The Sun is teasing us this morning with rays of sunshine , will it actually be a gorgeous day,, with no rain, snow, clouds? I finished my Feb Lottery and went to bed last night thinking what swaps I could come up with for April.... decided it was time for the sewing machines to come out of hibernation and start practicing for Fabric Inchies , Fabric Atc's.. So I leave you with warm thoughts. Hope the sun will give you a little shine in your part of the world. Here is some clipart for you to enjoy. Hugs, Debbie

We finally got home last night! How about some egg clipart

We had a wonderful trip to my inlaws... had a 4 inch snow while we were visiting. Dh took pictures from the front door so will see what is in the snow besides the dogs... LOL.. I had to turn around this am and drive to my orthopedic surgeon for my followup on my knee surgery.. Don't have to go back till June. The winds were horrible and I had wished dh could have taken me , but he was busy back at work after being off 5 days. So then I had to go get my disability license plates and placard for the truck. The guy had never done the plates before and took a good bit to get to the right screen in the computer to get them reissued.. So I am exhausted and need to regain energy. It is good to be back home and get back into a routine. I didn't pack any of my art supplies because with the two dogs it was just too crowded in the truck.. So I hope to work on my tape page in my journal this weekend, and start working on planning the April databases.... I did leave the doctor's office and went into Hastings for a craft book that has some ideas and techniques for the groups. So off to get in my pj's , just took a pain pill so hope it will work fast. I am leaving you with some egg clipart... Hugs, Debbie

StillMeadow-My first Altered Book

These are my first two pages in my Altered Book. I chose a book with sturdy binding. Pulled out about half of the pages and washed both pages in a grey acrylic. I named this book "Stillmeadow" I had an sample book of cloth wallpaper that I glued down first , my first attempt at using a stencil creame and a stencil to get the Energy word..the picture was a piece that a friend had sent me to get started.. She looks like she has "Energy" doesn't she?.LOL.. the second page done the same way. I used a washer from dh's garage and sanded it a bit and used acrylics on it to give it an aged look. The hanging Kani marker is attatched to another page in the book. So I think I will work with these two pages first and with the new things I have learned since starting this in July 2007 I will see what I can do to get these pages complete. I have even looked at my first ATC's and the ones now and see how I have grown in my art techniques. Hugs, Debbie.

Oriental Women to share

Oriental Art is my most favorite to work in. I am thinking so that on our final and last move into a new home , not sure if it is the one we are in or not,, but I want to do one of the bedrooms in Oriental furniture and artwork. My first art that I started with was an altered book and I decided to do it in Oriental. Since it was my very first attempts into the art world and  I have learned so much I am going to redo some of the  pages, I can just repaste over the top and start new ones.  Debbie

Another Primer Sheet to Enjoy

Well the sun is coming up early so hoping today is a lot warmer. I am packing and trying to get us ready for being out of town to his parents for about 5 days. Seems like the list gets longer, but is important so that I don't forget it. If they had a title for list like they do zentangle I would have millions of them over the years. Well enjoy your day. Hope the snow is slowing down for some and Spring is getting around the corner. Hugs,

Another Sweet Little Girl Image to grab!

Inchies Journaling

Now in Sarah's Inchie Lesson she has used a two page spread for her inchies.. I chose to do all of mine on one page. Course you know I am not afraid of those little inchies.. I think her lesson was to show you to not be afraid to be "imperfect",, but I had to make those inchies square... so overcoming "perfectionism" in some of my areas will be hard, were as I am not perfect in others. So I guess I kind of have a balance.. since I had already "washed "my pages prior to starting you will find that you do seem to want to balance what she is teaching and your visions for what your journal will be. See you next post as I will be doing Day 7 and 8 this weekend, and it involves tape,, One thing I will add , Sarah uses "Prompts" , these help you to journal what she is wanting you to learn. Hugs, Debbie

Day 3- Building My Armor

Here Sarah had us start our journals with Armor,, to help us gain our confidence in writing, in challenges when someone is not as thrilled about your journal as you are... I did not do a lot of writing ,, I am still trying to build up the confidence in how to write down what I want to say,, I know that as I progress in the journal I will become more of a writer. So I will revist this page and make additions as I grow in my soul. Next page that I did in next post.. Hugs, Debbie
Here I got to write my name all over in diffent fonts, colors etc. I used Sharpie Poster Paint Water based pens,, they are wonderful but are being discontinued, but did find them here http://www.dickblick.com/products/sharpie-poster-paint-markers/ I am sure I will revist this page to do more doodling and such on it.. On to Day 3- Building Your Soul Armor

I think while it is important to follow the directions in my Soul Journal from Sarah Whitmire, it is also important to make the journal "mine". So next will continued Day 2 Claiming your Journal.

Day One -Claiming your Journal

Here are my first 3 pages with glued old dictionary pages. Now Elena told me how to do an acrylic wash on my pages..I used waxed paper to separate the pages and under my journal to protect my surface. I put a few squirts of each of the cheap acrylic paint on a piece of waxed paper using Metallic Inca Gold, Metallic Peridot, and Metallic Aquamarine all by Folk Art. Then I took a 1 inch wide paint brush and dipped it in water then dipped it in the acrylic paint alternating the colors till I achived the look I wanted. You will see them in the next post. Hugs Debbie

Starting my First Journal

With encouragement from Elena I am starting my first journal. I am taking lessons from Sarah Whitmire at Soul Journaling http://www.souljournaling.com/prompts.php

Juliet Arrighi helped me with my Blogger Heading,, Here is another sweet little girl to use.

Thanks to Juliet Arrighi, I have my Flight of Grace title to the right of my Header Image. She is a genius!!! Hugs, Debbie
